Office hours and holidays

Office hours say when your company is open. A phone number can ring people during them and do something else outside them, like play “We’re closed” (Incoming calls).

Office hours

The times are the server’s time zone, the one chosen at install. The page says which one, and Now: open or Now: closed at the top is the same answer a real call gets at this moment.

The week

A business gets Office hours when it’s set up, with the days and times chosen under When are you open? in the setup wizard (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 unless changed there). To change them any time, go to Office hours:

  • Turn a day on or off with its switch.
  • Choose when it opens and closes. 24:00 (midnight) means open until the end of that day.
  • + adds another time on the same day, for a lunch break: 08:00–13:00 and 14:00–17:00.
  • Copy Monday to every open day gives every open day Monday’s times.

Then choose Save hours.

Holidays

On a holiday it’s closed all day, whatever the week says. Choose + Add under Holidays, give it a name and its first day (and its last day, for several days).

Tick Every year on the same dates for a fixed holiday like National Day. Eid moves every year, so add it again each year.

Holidays that are over move under Past holidays.

At home

At home there are no office hours: every number rings the same all the time. Add office hours adds them if you want them anyway.

More schedules

More schedules (at the bottom) adds another set of hours, for example Support hours. A number then chooses which hours it follows. A schedule a number follows can’t be removed until that number follows other hours.

Checking it

To see what a call to one of your numbers does on a given day and time, use the call simulator and choose On under When.

Undo

Every change here can be undone: Undo shows for 10 seconds after you save, and System → Routing changes keeps the last 50. See Undo and routing changes.
